2006-03-07 UAB “Lignesa” – Gazelle 2005 of “Verslo žinios” in Tauragė district!SADDLED FISH FOR THE FLIGHT
Fish processing company UAB “Lignesa” operating in Tauragė district gallops like a gazelle by investing into production and developing product markets abroad. The Company scored well, having expanded its assortment.
Private Limited Company “Lignesa” that exports one-fifth of its production continues working actively with foreign markets and expanding them. Management of the Company explains that this was the major reason of the Company’s growth. The Company of Tauragė district became a Gazelle of VŽ at the previous contest as well.
“We travel a lot in Europe and we have necessary information on how and where to find foreign partners. In the search for new markets we were assisted a lot by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Lithuanian Development Agency. “Furthermore, we were actively participating in various fairs and exhibitions”, explained the Company’s Director Jonas Dungveckis, who is involved in the search for new markets for the Company.
Last year the Company has considerably expanded its production capacities having invested into a new packaging line. The speedy machine enables production of up to 1,800 fish boxes per day and makes it possible to produce 16 kinds of new products. It cost the Company LTL 800,000.00.
Mr. Žilvinas Urbutis says that by increasing and expanding its product range the Company provides with work some other companies as well, and thus nurtures and “hauls” with itself small and medium business of the region.
Most attention is paid to Gazelle “hunting” by business dailies of the Bonnier Press Group (including “Verslo žinios”) in Sweden, Denmark, Austria, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Estonia, and Slovenia.
Gazelle selection criteria differ in different countries, but the essence is the same – these are pushing, flexible and smart companies able to grow successfully in the business jungle.
